St. Edwards University http://www.jasongouliard.com/17 <img src="user/uploads/st-edwards-university/toppermaker.jpg" /> This was part of some web design projects I was involved in designing surrounding the 125th anniversary of St. Edwards University. This site allows you to create your own version of the school's mascot. Periscopeholdings.com http://www.jasongouliard.com/4 <img src="user/uploads/periscopeholdings-com/phi.jpg" />

I was the lead designer and developer for the corporate web re-branding of Periscope Holdings, Inc. The project included 3 web properties: periscopeholdings.com, nigp.com and buyspeed.com. I designed and developed the main site to include a well organized browsing experience, SEO optimization, and an easy-to-use (for the client and the visitor) blog. I also managed the development of the subsidiary sites.

I held the title of Web Designer at National Instruments. Which meant I was responsible for the creative deliverables behind global product marketing campaigns. My daily tasks ranged from art directing photo shoots for micro-sites and banners, to working directly with internal stakeholders to design and develop unique web experiences. Above you can see an example of a banner that I designed, art-directed, and produced; some comps of a new site section I designed; and "the bug" - the orange, site-wide, long-tail, promotional tool for marketing National Instrument's annual, test and measurement conference.

I teamed up with local designer Kendall Anderson to create the visual identity for Fete 2008, and annual fundraiser for Ballet Austin. We designed the paper system for the event - the logo, invitation, brochure, and all of the signage.

Golocalaustin.com http://www.jasongouliard.com/11 <img src="user/uploads/golocalaustin-com/gla.jpg" />

I acted as lead designer and developer on this project to make this client's website more usable, accessible, and ultimately more shareable. I accomplished this by migrating a primarily Flash site to an open-source CMS/Blog that allows the client to easily update and change content on their own, and allows their users to keep up to date though RSS feeds and social networking plug-ins.

NI Academic rebranding http://www.jasongouliard.com/16 <img src="user/uploads/ni-academic-rebranding/ni_print.jpg" />

At National Instruments where I was employed as a Web Designer ( see here for more info ) I also worked as a print designer on a major re-branding campaign to update the look and feel of the Academic business unit. Above is an example of an ad campaign I developed to draw attention to our flagship product's most unique feature - it's graphical user interface. I wanted to focus on the fact that not only did the graphical user interface icons have a unique, retro/pixelated look, but that learning LabView (and it's icons) was akin to learning a hieroglyphic code that enabled you to be a part of a cool, secret society.
